A dental crown is a custom-made cap that fits over a damaged tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. Crowns are typically made from durable materials such as porcelain, ceramic, or metal, depending on the location of the tooth and your personal preferences. Once fitted, the crown fully encases the tooth, providing a natural-looking and functional restoration.
The process of receiving a dental crown typically involves two appointments. During the first visit, our dental team will carefully prepare the damaged tooth by removing any decayed or weakened portions. Impressions will be taken to ensure that your crown is a perfect fit. If needed, a temporary crown will be placed to protect the tooth until the permanent one is ready.
Once the custom crown is created and fitted, it will be securely placed over the prepared tooth. The result is a durable, natural-looking restoration that functions just like your original tooth, allowing you to bite, chew, and smile with confidence.
