At Richmond Dental, we understand that missing teeth can impact both your smile and your ability to eat and speak comfortably. One solution to restore the function and appearance of your smile is a dental bridge. Dental bridges are fixed prosthetic devices that can replace one or more missing teeth, helping to restore your confidence and improve your oral health.
A dental bridge is a custom-made device that fills the gap created by one or more missing teeth. It is anchored securely to the surrounding natural teeth, providing a stable and long-lasting solution. The bridge consists of a replacement tooth (or teeth) attached to crowns, which are placed on the adjacent healthy teeth. This creates a "bridge" over the gap, restoring your smile and confidence.
Dental bridges are typically recommended when one or more teeth are missing. If you have healthy teeth adjacent to the gap, a bridge can be an excellent way to restore the lost function and appearance of your mouth. Bridges can help with issues such as:
The process of getting a dental bridge begins with a consultation where our dental team will assess your oral health and discuss the best treatment options. We then work with a trusted local partner practice that specialises in creating and fitting dental bridges. They will take detailed impressions of your teeth to ensure a custom fit.
Once the bridge is crafted, the surrounding teeth are prepared, and the bridge is anchored to these teeth using dental crowns. The result is a secure, fixed prosthetic that seamlessly fills the gap left by the missing teeth.
At Richmond Dental, we work closely with a local partner practice that has the expertise and experience in creating and fitting dental bridges. By collaborating with specialists, we can offer you the highest quality care and results, ensuring that your bridge fits comfortably and looks natural. Our team will guide you through each step of the process, from initial consultation to final fitting, to ensure a smooth and successful treatment.
